Data Governance - (Active NPPV2 Required!) (Contract)

Location: Remote  Country: UK Rate: £450pd (Outside)
 

Our client are a top tier consultancy looking for a Data Governance on a 6 months contract.

Candidates will need Active NPPV2.

Job Spec:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Governance Framework: Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework, including policies, procedures, and standards, to ensure the effective management, quality, and security of organisational data.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with data stakeholders across the organization, including business units, IT departments, legal, compliance, and risk management, to understand data needs, priorities, and requirements.
  3. Policy Development: Create and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and organisational objectives.
  4. Data Quality Management: Establish data quality standards and metrics to measure and monitor the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of organisational data, and implement processes to address data quality issues.
  5. Data Privacy and Security: Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (eg, GDPR, CCPA) and internal security policies by implementing appropriate controls, access restrictions, and data protection measures.
  6. Data Classification and Metadata Management: Develop data classification schemes and metadata standards to categorize and tag data assets, enabling better data discovery, access control, and usage.
  7. Data Lifecycle Management: Define data life cycle stages, from creation to archival or deletion, and establish processes for data retention, archival, and disposal in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  8. Training and Awareness: Provide training and support to employees on data governance policies, procedures, and best practices, raising awareness of data governance principles and responsibilities.
  9. Governance Committee Support: Support the activities of the data governance committee or steering group, facilitating meetings, documenting decisions, and tracking action items and initiatives.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of data governance processes and controls, identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements to optimize data management practices.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in data governance, data management, or related roles, preferably in a regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Experience working with data stakeholders across different business units and departments.
  • Ability to develop and implement data governance policies, processes, and standards.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (eg, GDPR, CCPA) and data security best practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse complex data issues and propose solutions.
  • Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
